Lyrics
(My) Swan Song
©Drexel Rayford, Vagrants Chapel Music, 2024
When my years were few I sought to use my songs
To compel the crowd to let my voice belong.
A half a hundred years have shown my song will abide
Like the whippoorwill’s cry on the mountainside
It’s just a swan song.
The ego’s fears left their jagged stains
Reality alone remains
Unfiltered God
Soul set free
Grace of life
Eternity
The strains of a swan song.
Stars shine.
Ancient signs.
Yellow moon in a velvet sky.
A sitka grows from a tiny seed.
I’m here with her.
It’s all I need.
This is my swan song.
